Reasons – Why You May Need a New Filtration System

A water filtration system is one of the key components of many commercial facilities. But it can develop issues that can cripple operations, leading to very costly shutdowns – and possibly even damaged equipment that needs to be replaced. These are just a few of the causes of water filtration system failures.

Causes of Water Filtration Performance Problems

Water filters are designed to work within certain parameters in order to perform at their best. If those parameters are exceeded, a water filter can begin to degrade to the point it needs to be replaced.

There are many potential reasons why filters fail to perform as they should.

For example, the water filter may be taking in more water than it is designed to handle. The water itself might have changed in some way. This could be due to new substances in the water, or an increase in the amount of those substances.

Equipment issues can sometimes lead to filter issues as well. Machinery upstream of the filter might not be functioning correctly. This could cause more contaminants to get into the filter. There could be some sort of malfunction with the filter itself. The control unit might not be working properly, or one of the valves may have failed.

Some water filters need regular cleaning. If this is not done correctly – or it is not done at all – that can make it harder for the filter to do its job.
